Sanya Nanshan Treehouse – Hainan Island, China
This traditional treehouse has an added benefit – it’s right on the beach! Yes that’s right, be gently lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the ocean waves. Your multilevel private balconies look out over the canopy of tamarind trees and the soft white powder sands beyond. It’s a complete immersion in nature you’ll have here. Imagine falling asleep soothed by the sound of the waves and bells around.
The rustic accommodations are nested high in very old Tamarian Trees, accessible by a rope-and-plank suspension bridge. The largest of the treehouses can accommodate up to 20 people on three levels. Before you go, it’s good to know that the treehouse have electricity, however you will have to walk 35 feet for a hot shower.
The resort is located along miles of pristine coastline so you can spend your days relaxing at the beach. Another thing to do is to explore the 5,000 acres of preserved 19th century Buddhist temples and pagodas right on your doorstep. The resort is also not far from a huge stature of the “goddess of mercy”, ‘Guanyin’, which itself totally worth the trip here.
