Hôtel des Arts Saigon Review

Hotel Des Arts Saigon

Right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Hotel des Arts Saigon stands tall like a piece of art, a stunning blend of French colonial and contemporary Vietnam, always elegant and beautifully decorated in a soft palette of creams and dark wood.

The hotel is just a 30-minute drive from the airport and its location is a brisk walk from everything you could want to see here. We covered all distances by foot, some really good restaurants are 10 minutes away, along with bars, shops and key sights, such as the Saigon Central Post Office, the Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum.

The Deluxe Room

The Deluxe Room

We stayed in the Deluxe Room, which was like stepping back in time into French colonial Saigon. The room was comfortable, spacious and beautiful with a squoval floor-to-ceiling window displaying Saigon’s headquarters whilst flooding the room with light. It feels very special to be able to observe Saigon’s busyness from such a peaceful and relaxing space.

It’s the perfect room for a couple and we had a very romantic stay, however, there is only a curtain separating it from the ensuite bathroom which might not suit friends traveling together. All rooms have a television, international plug sockets and a Nespresso machine.

Dining

Dining Hotel Des Arts Saigon

The all-day dining Saigon Kitchen takes its inspiration from an Asian street food market, but the extensive breakfast buffet ranges from a French patisserie and a full English to pho and dim sum. The buffet lunch serves up Western and Pan-Asian favourites, while dinner is à la carte, with a seafood extravaganza at weekends. Looking for a snack? Savour a creative patisserie on a velvet sofa at the Café des Beaux-Arts in the ground-floor. During our stay, we ordered room service more than we usually do, as the menu was blessed with choice, the food authentic Vietnamese and the service excellent. You can also order room service on the rooftop space, the Social Club Above Saigon, until 4pm, and enjoy your food at the sun.

Social Club Above Saigon

Social Club Above Saigon
Sitting on the rooftop, Social Club Above Saigon is one of the trendiest places to go out in the city. Evenings here are far from boring, as Saigon’s business workforce come here to enjoy top notch cocktails. The dance ambient music adds to a vibrant atmosphere when the sun sets.

Social Club Above Saigon
We’ve tried some of the club signature cocktails surpassing some of London’s best ones. It’s pure delight to have cocktails here in the afternoon with the sun above you and the groovy music.

Social Club Above Saigon
During the day, the bar is quiet and casual, you can get room service whilst chilling by the pool. The swimming pool is secluded far on the right side of the roof and is therefore quiet; it is the highest rooftop infinity pool in the city. The still, blue water looks irresistibly attractive on a calm afternoon and invites you for a swim under the sun and infinite sky with Saigon’s skyscrapers in the background.

In a sea of 5-star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, Hotel Des Arts Saigon really stands out as being excellent value for money. Ideally located, spotless, trendy and fun. The staff here are really on top of things, doing everything to accommodate you and make sure you have a high-level stay. If you’re staying in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be hard-pressed to find a more luxurious hotel at this price.
